I wrote a piece entitled “A look inside Turkey’s startup scene” for VentureBeat last week. It was scheduled to be published yesterday, and it was.
Unfortunately the day the piece was published coincided with a bombing in Turkey’s capital Ankara where, by the latest record, at least 95 people were killed. Since the piece had been prescheduled for publishing, I wasn’t able to pull it back.
I apologize for the unfortunate timing. Together with the VentureBeat team, our condolences go out to those in mourning.
I hope that the piece helps draw attention to the growing strength of Turkey’s startup scene. It’s a great example of one of the good things happening in Turkey at an otherwise difficult time.
